Arvind Puthucode
Product-minded engineer and founder building ScoutFox, a product for catching important web changes before they become obvious.
I like work where the boundaries are messy: talking to users, figuring out what matters, building the backend, shipping the product, and improving it when reality disagrees with the first version.
I started my career as an engineer working on augmented analytics systems and large-scale data pipelines. Over time I became fascinated by a broader question: how do people notice the signals that actually matter for decisions?
The internet produces enormous amounts of information every day: new research, product launches, regulatory changes, and market shifts. Most of these signals appear quietly across scattered sources long before they become obvious.
Humans miss them constantly.
That curiosity led me to build before I had the final answer. I first built an edtech app for Socratic learning. It taught me that learning products often require changing human psychology, and edtech markets are highly personal and heavily commoditized.
I wanted to work on a harder systems problem that felt less mundane, so I moved to a second project: SignalNotNoise, a brand focused on understanding influencer marketing more deeply.
That effort exposed the bigger question underneath all campaigns: what are the right signals to track for a specific goal? That question became the foundation for ScoutFox.
In October 2025, I left my role to explore this direction more deeply through founder residencies and independent experiments.
During the Lossfunk residency (Jan-Feb 2026), I started building ScoutFox, a system that monitors the web intelligently, builds baselines around entities and relationships, and surfaces signals users should not miss.
ScoutFox later won the OSS4AI February Hackathon and is currently being developed through the TinyFish accelerator program. It is now used in work around journalism, venture, research, and competitive intelligence, including users at Business Today and Analytics India Magazine.
My long-term focus is to build systems that surface the signals humans need to make better decisions. ScoutFox is the strongest evidence of how I work: ambiguous problem, real users, shipped product, and constant iteration when quality is not yet good enough.
Outside of startups, I enjoy exploring unusual questions across science, intelligence systems, and technology.
Now
- Building ScoutFox, a product that catches important web changes early
- Working with users across journalism, venture, research, and competitive intelligence
- Researching how people notice what matters before everyone else does
Projects
ScoutFox - First-mover intelligence for people who need to know before a signal becomes obvious news.
I built ScoutFox across product, backend, reports, and customer feedback. The system watches public sources, filters noise, and turns important changes into short briefs users can act on.
